I offer Jungian analysis and psychotherapy for adults seeking a deeper exploration of the psyche and the personality.
My work provides a reflective and confidential space in which to explore recurring patterns, life transitions, questions of creativity, dreams and images, questions of meaning, and the process of psychological development.
My approach is grounded in the analytical psychology model of CG Jung, and attends to both conscious experience and unconscious processes in the psyche.
People might consider analysis for several reasons, including curiosity. Perhaps analysis may be sought at times of :
- Anxiety and depression
- Noticing unwanted relationship patterns or difficulties
- Life transitions
- Loss and grief
- Identity questions
- A search for greater self-understanding
Sessions are offered in-person in Torquay, Devon. For those who live at distance, I can offer hybrid online and in-person sessions.
Please feel welcome to get in touch to enquire about analysis.
Background and qualifications:
- Qualifications: Diploma from CG Jung Institute, Zurich as a Jungian Adult Psychoanalyst. I am an IAAP member (International Association Of Analytical Psychology).
- Clinical training: Training as an analyst in Zurich involves an intensive, well-recognised study, lasting at least 4 years and involving theoretical training, ongoing personal analysis, clinical internships and supervised (group and individual) practice, which in my case was in NHS and charity settings.
- Before training as a psychoanalyst, I worked for many years as a medical doctor (since 2001, MRCGP 2007). I retrained as a Jungian analyst through a deepening appreciation of what analysis has to offer. I remain registered in good standing with the GMC, though all my clinical work is in analysis and I no longer practice as a doctor. I also have an interest in medical sociology, with academic publications on the topic of communication about women’s sexual health in chronic disease care.
- Practice location: Torquay Devon (TQ2).
